KOI by LZF
If you’ve been to Vaqueta Gastro Mercat, the wooden lamp-sculpture that presides over the sushi bar, representing a huge carp (koi in Japanese) over three and a half metres long, will certainly not have gone unnoticed. The lamp is a design by Inocuo The Sign and Mariví Calvo for LZF Lab Lamps, produced by the workshop of Manolo Martín. Koi is inspired by a system of interlocking wood and the translucent qualities it produces when illuminated. The overlapping of wooden slats, similar to fish scales, is called Koi Weave. Handmade, using traditional Valencian carpentry techniques, Koi is a true marvel to behold.
