Pelayo Gastro Trinquet

There is no doubt that Pelayo Gastro Trinquet deserves to top this list of coolest restaurants in Valencia. After all, being in the antechamber of the “Cathedral” of Valencian pelota makes us part of its history.

We are in the oldest covered sports venue in Europe, turning it into a project that combines sport and gastronomy. The décor was designed by Carlos Serra and his studio Mercader de Indias. The venue’s flagship feature is the large central sculpture: a pelota player’s hand over 3 meters tall; such a tribute to Valencian culture earned us the Valencia Hospitality Design Award 2024.

Pelayo Gastro Trinquet’s culinary offering is in the hands of executive chef Pablo Margós and head chef Chimo Faubell. Traditional Valencian cuisine is our main source of inspiration, as shown by specialties such as duck rice and titaina marinera; special mention should go to the bunyol de l’Albufera, winner of the Best Native Tapa in the Valencian Community 2025 award.

Since opening in 2020, La Sastrería has become one of the best restaurants in Cabanyal. The establishment owes its name to the business that came before it: a 1950s fabric shop. The menu, with specialties such as López anchovy and grilled octopus, pays tribute to the Mediterranean Sea. Several publications specializing in architecture and design praise its carefully crafted vintage interior design, created by the Masquespacio studio.

Specialties such as eel and foie uramaki live up to such an original setting.
